“Wow, that was REALLY cool!” – Steve Morse (Guitarist, Deep Purple) after watching Gerry play some of that Quigley guitar madness at Burswood Casino, Perth Western Australia:

“I just loved your music when you played in Dublin and I know you will always do so well with your music just like my Philip.  Please show those Australians where the good music comes from, and please, hurry home because we all love you dearly and miss you.” – Philomena Lynott mother of Ireland’s legendary rocker Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) in her video speech launching Gerry’s Prog Rock band Gerry Quigley & The Nomadic Druids at their debut gig in Australia.

The Quigley Story:

Gerry was born and raised in the Dublin music scene of the 70’s, where he was instantly mesmerised the first time he ever heard an electric guitar played live.  Gerry was just 10yo and the guitarist was none other than the young Gary Moore, rehearsing with Brush Shiels and The Real Skid Row in the basement of the Quigley family house.   Gerry knew from that first special moment that all he ever wanted to do when he left school was play guitar.

Gerry’s musical journey continued, in the true Irish tradition he grew up as the youngest of a very musical family, and bands rehearsing in the Quigley house each week included rock legends Thin Lizzy in their early years.  At 14yo Gerry had his first and only guitar lessons with Eric Bell, Thin Lizzy founding guitarist.   It was Eric who taught Gerry about the Blues, as he introduced Gerry to many of the world’s guitar greats and the importance of listening,  and encouraged Gerry to  develop his own style.

Gerry achieved success with his 70’s heavy rock band Raw Deal before emigrating to Perth, Western Australia in 1982 where he spent the next 30 successful years touring and recording.  Gerry is among very few to be gifted with honorary life membership of the prestigious Perth Blues Club for his contribution to the Western Australian music scene.

Gerry is now a master and a  guitar legend in his own right.  The high calibire of musical influences in his childhood is evident in his playing and in the captivating, spine-tingling music he writes.

Gerry tours his homeland of Ireland extensively each year and is currently planning his European Tour 2018.

One thing is for certain – prepare to be captivated!
