Formed in Perth, Western Australia by Dublin-born guitar wizard extraordinaire Gerry Quigley and friends to play blues and Celtic rock at the popular Sunday Session at Perth’s Rosemount Hotel, The Shinkickers rock the crowds as they pump out the best in spine-tingling guitar magic, blues, classic rock and celtic rock since 1991.
Gerry’s many musical acheivements include a standing ovation at Perth Concert Hall after playing a jaw-dropping show with his Celtic Rock band Raggle Taggle Gypsy, life membership of the prestigious Perth Blues Club for his contribution to the Western Australian music scene, and a reputation as one of the most respected and sought-after on musicians with his Rock, Blues and Celtic rock bands. After 30 years in Perth Gerry moved home to Ireland in 2013 where he continues to captivate the crowds with his ecclectic collection of guitars and other things with strings.
Now with the Irish lineup of his award-winning band Gerry Quigley & The Shinkickers, Gerry continues the Shinkickers tradition throughout Ireland, the UK and beyond with a diverse and entertaining mix of haunting melodies and original Prog Rock instrumentals, to Classic Rock and Blues to honour the music of all the greats who have inspired him so far.
A Shinkickers show is a rocking mix of mesmerising Quigley originals with classics from The Doors, Thin LIzzy, Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher, BB King, Dick Dale, Peter Green, Paul Kossoff, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, along with a taste of Celtic rock and more!
One thing is for certain – prepare to be captivated!

“The Shinkickers from the first listen have thoroughly impressed me with their talents. The guitars, the sound and the energy behind what they play is absolutely astounding. The commitment they’ve shown thus far to their music has been proven evident with every song. These are people who love music! ” – Ash Fierro – The Chaos Box 99.3 FM Los Angeles, California
“The West Coast Blues and Roots Festival was billed as the “music lover’s weekend” and this was not an understatement. Boasting 50 acts over three stages, it promised to be big – and it delivered. On the Saturday, I arrived just in time in the afternoon to see The Shinkickers on the Crossroads stage, which was located just next to the gates. Ignoring the heat, the band impressed with their jam-styled blues, and ended their set with a scintillating version of their instrumental, Weeping Willow. The Shinkickers are a fantastic ambassador for the Perth blues scene.” – Shichi – The West Coast Blues and Roots Festival, Western Australia 2008
